About Rostar

Built By Musicians, Run Like An Agency

Rostar was started in 2023 by gigging musicians who'd seen the booking process from both sides, the unreliable acts, the missed soundchecks, the venues left scrambling. We built the agency we wished existed.

That means every act on the roster is vetted before they ever play your venue, every booking is backed by cover if something goes wrong, and every invoice arrives once a week, not five times from five different acts.

  • London-based, working with venues across the city
  • Every act vetted before they're added to the roster
  • One agency, one invoice, no surprises

The Basics

What A Live Music Agency Actually Does

What does an agency do that I can't do myself?
Anyone can find a musician's social media in five minutes. What an agency adds is the part that happens before and after the booking: vetting the act, arranging cover if they can't make it, handling the contract and invoice, and being someone you can actually call if something goes wrong on the night.
Is it more expensive than booking direct?
Not meaningfully. You're paying for the act either way; the agency fee covers the vetting, admin, and reliability rather than sitting on top of it as a separate cost most venues notice.
Do you take a cut from the artist's fee?
Artists are paid fairly and know the rate upfront before they accept a booking. The agency's commercial relationship is with the venue, not built on underpaying the performer.
How is this different from a function band agency?
Function band agencies typically supply full bands for weddings and large parties. Rostar focuses on solo acts, duos, and pianists for bars, pubs, hotels, restaurants, and private events, a different size of booking entirely.
What happens if the act cancels?
We arrange cover from the roster so the booking still goes ahead. That's the entire point of using an agency rather than a single freelancer with no backup.

Choosing An Act

Solo Singer, Duo, Or More?

The right format depends on the room and the moment, not just the budget. Here's how to think about it.

Solo Singer
One voice, a guitar or backing track. The simplest setup, ideal for smaller rooms and quieter sets.
Acoustic Duo
Two performers add range and harmony without the size, stage, or cost of a full band.
Guitarist
Purely instrumental, the most unobtrusive option for background settings and dining rooms.
Pianist
The classic choice for receptions, lobbies, and fine dining, where elegance matters more than volume.
Not Sure What You Need?
Tell us about the room and the occasion, we'll recommend a format, not just an act.

How quickly can you book an act?
In most cases we can confirm an act within 48 hours, depending on availability in your area. For regular weekly slots, we recommend setting these up in advance so your venue has a consistent lineup.
What happens if an artist cancels?
We arrange cover from our roster so your gig goes ahead as planned. Last-minute changes are rare, but if they happen, we handle the replacement so you don't have to.
Do acts bring their own equipment?
Yes. Our acoustic acts arrive fully self-contained with their own instruments and amplification where needed, so there's no setup required from your team.
What areas do you cover?
We supply acts to venues across the UK. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, get in touch and we'll confirm availability for your location.
Can we request specific styles or genres?
Absolutely. Tell us the kind of atmosphere you're going for and we'll match you with acts that suit your venue, your crowd, and the vibe you want.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the act, frequency, and venue requirements. Get in touch with a few details about your venue and we'll put together a tailored quote.
